About This Playbook

Despite efforts to combat hunger in the U.S., food insecurity remains above 10% in 95% of U.S. counties (Feeding America, 2023). In 2022, Hormel Foods launched the Hometown Food Security Project in Mower County, Minnesota, uniting businesses, schools and nonprofits to address local food insecurity. This playbook includes tools, insights and resources that have emerged from the Hometown Food Security Project’s continuing work. It is being shared to help other communities tackle their unique food security challenges.
