Many of those involved in nonprofit and cause work are humble. That’s a good thing. They know that, as long as there are others in need, there is more to be done. And therefore, they have little interest in celebrating.

Yet, we should remember that doing good work, however big or small, should be recognized. It’s in the community’s interest to know what is being done to better the community, and how it is happening. And keep in mind that it is a way to help achieve your goals.

We learned that a good way to approach success is with humility and resolve.

* Champion your successes by telling the story of what happened and how it helped the community.

* Thank those individuals and organizations who helped along the way.

* Acknowledge that there’s more work to do, and encourage others to join in where they can.
